In order to provide more opportunities for outstanding students to study abroad and better promote the process of internationalization of the University, detailed information of Sophia University 2016 Summer School program (August) are hereby announced as follows:

一、Program Introduction
 Sophia University is a well-known private university in Japan and it is located in Chiyoda Ku, Tokyo kioi cho. The university is originally founded by pastor JochiGakuin of the Roman Catholic Church, built in 1913. Ranking twelfth in Japan's comprehensive universities, ranking third in private universities. Sophia University is an international university, teachers and students have a wide connection with international organizations. In 2009, the Japanese Ministry of Education (MEXT) selected 13 universities as experimental universities (Global 30 program) to rectify the internationalization, Sophia University is one of the them. Global 30 program aims to improve the status of Japan in the world of education. The major objective of the 13 universities is to increase the number of overseas students, and open new English teaching courses to achieve the goal. Sophia University began to implement English teaching courses in 1949 and established her pioneer status in English teaching among the Japanese universities. Sophia University, Keio University and Waseda University are called the top three private Japanese universities.

Sophia University summer program aims at strengthening Chinese university students' interest in Japanese culture, through such a short time to learn about Sophia University, expanding knowledge scope, and determined their future paths.

In addition to the course of study (culture, education, society etc.), enterprise inspection (TOYOTA automobile, Asahi enterprises etc.) and cultural exchanges (study of traditional glass handicraft production and so on), students have the opportunity to fully contact with Japanese society. Feel the charm of the ancient Japan in Kamakura and Hokkaido.

二、Program Date

August 7th, 2016- August 19h, 2016

三、Selection conditions
 1.Full-time undergraduates or postgraduates of our school；
 2. All-round development of morality, intelligence and physique；academic excellence.
 3. English level 4 or above；
 4.Be interested in Japanese culture

四、Program fee
 278000 yen

 Program fee includes：Application fee，Sophia University tuition fee and reception fee，overseas insurance fee, visa invitation production fee and international postal fees, airport fees, accommodation fees, fees of different kinds activities.

 Program fee excludes：Flight tickets and taxes, excess baggage fee, visa fee, meals, transportation fees and other personal expenses, including expenses incurred outside.

六、Internal procedures

Register in the website of the International Office website, registration process please see: http://ice.xmu.edu.cn/showdown.aspx?news_id=3763.

Download and fill in the 《2016 Summer program registration form》 (Appendix 3) and submit the electronic version to the email: xmuinternational@126.com before June 15th

Download and fill in the 《XMU students overseas exchange program application form》 (Appendix 4) and 《Overseas exchange program consent》 (Annex 5), and submit paper materials before June 15th to teacher Cao. (Office 806 of the main building)

七、Important Dates:
From now~ June 15th  Registration
 August 7th, 2016   Program starts
 August 19th, 2016  Program ends

八、Important Notice:
1. If you don't have a passport for registration, please apply for a passport as early as possible. Students who have a passport, please check the validity of the passport (the validity must be after February 28th, 2017).
 2. Select only one program released in the same period of the summer programs and please do the overall planning.
 3. Once the application is successful, please pay attention to travel safety, comply with local laws and regulations
