Recently, the youth league committee of Xiamen University announced the list of excellent volunteer service projects and outstanding volunteers in 2018, and the projects and individuals selected by our college were listed on the list. Among them, Chinese Corner volunteer service project won the Excellent Project Award, 2014 graduate student Ye Yilin won the 2018 top 10 Volunteers of Xiamen University, 2015 graduate student Ju Yiran, 2016 undergraduate Guo Zhaoyuan was awarded 2018 Excellent Volunteers of Xiamen University.

The Chinese Corner program of the college, founded in 2012, held activities every Tuesday night during the academic semester, aiming to provide a communication platform for Chinese and foreign students, help foreign students improve their Chinese communication ability, integrate into the campus and China as soon as possible, promote Sino-foreign cultural exchanges, and contribute to the construction of an international campus. Over the past seven years, the Chinese corner has received extensive support and enthusiastic participation from Chinese and foreign students in the campus, with more than 9,000 participants and more than 2,500 pairs of language partners. After continuous exploration and improvement, the scope of influence of the Chinese Corner has been continuously expanded, and the influence of the activity has also been continuously enhanced. In 2017, it was rated as the second My Favorite Student Activity in Xiang 'an campus of Xiamen University.

In the past year, Chinese Corner was held 22 times. Each time the manager selects the topic of Chinese culture, guide the Chinese and foreign students on current topics to discuss, such as the Chinese traditional festivals, traditional Musical Instruments, tea culture, Chinese martial arts, Chinese and foreign film and television contrast, in order to enhance the cognition and understanding of Chinese culture in the communication, to carry forward Chinese excellent traditional culture, lead young students don't forget origin, absorb foreign culture and show real, three-dimensional, comprehensive of China to foreign students. Since the second half year of 2017, the International Youth Said characteristic activities would be held once a semester. Through the dialogue of youth from different countries on the same topic to stimulate the communication between different cultures and collision, actively create a open, inclusive and self-confident campus culture atmosphere.

At volunteers advanced deeds report meeting of Xiamen University and Xiamen University ten best volunteers in 2018 selection meeting, Ye Yilin, a graduate student selected by our school and a Chinese volunteer teacher for two years in the Confucius institute in Southampton, UK, has won 67 on-site judges thanks to her rich experience in overseas volunteer teaching and wonderful on-site demonstration, eventually had the title of Top 10 Volunteers of Xiamen University in 2018. Ju Yiran and Guo Zhaoyuan were awarded the title of Excellent Volunteer of Xiamen University in 2018.

In recent years, the International College has attached great importance to volunteer education and encouraged Chinese and foreign students to actively participate in volunteer activities. In addition to the deepening of the Chinese Corner project, in March 2018, the college established the overseas volunteer service team. In the Lei Feng Memorial Day and the spring semester orientation week, a group of foreign Lei Feng faces became unique scenery in the campus. In the spring, autumn school welcome, Big Hand Pull Small hand Dadeng middle school supporting education activities and school cultural activities, also emerged a lot of outstanding overseas volunteers. The college also commended the outstanding overseas student volunteers for their good performance in 2018, and set an example for other international students, especially the scholarship students, to guide and educate them in this way to learn how to think about the source of water, and try to repay the school and the society with practical actions during their study.

In January, general secretary Xi Jinping paid thumb up to volunteers during a research tour in Tianjin, praising them as pioneers and leaders who have made contributions to society. The college will continue to guide Chinese and foreign students to participate in voluntary service extensively, take root in China, integrate Chinese and foreign students, actively create professional and accurate volunteer service, strive to expound the world culture and promote human progress, and contribute youth and wisdom to improve the international level of the school and accelerate the construction of double first-class.
