XMU-DBS Cooperation Program Discipline Frontiers Lecture Series 1: Professor Li Jianfa Gave a Lecture on

In order to further strengthen the academic atmosphere of the college and expand the academic horizon of students, the XMU-DBS Cooperation Program launched the "Lecture Series on the Frontiers of Economics and Management" this fall semester. Experts and scholars from School of Economics and the School of Management, Xiamen University will provide academic lectures in the fields of finance and accounting for the students of XMU-DBS Cooperation Program.


On the evening of September 29, the first lecture of the "series of lectures" was held in the multifunctional hall B102 of Kunluan Building. Professor Li Jianfa, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Xiamen University and Dean of the School of Management of XMU, shared with the students his research experience in the field of government accounting over the years with the topic of " Government Accounting Reform in China".

Professor Li Jianfa first introduced the characteristics of the public sector and the accounting discipline system. He pointed out that for a long time, China had only budget accounting and final accounting reports, but no government accounting and financial reportsand the government public departments did not distinguish between financial accounting, cost accounting and management accounting. There are many problems in the current budget accounting report, such as unclear subject, incomplete accounting and report content, unscientific foundation, mismatch with Chinese corporate accounting, and large gap with international public sector accounting practices. Then, he introduced the guiding ideology, reform goals, reform tasks, standard system construction and future development direction of government accounting reform in China with detailed data and vivid charts. Finally, he emphasized that government accounting is very important and promising. He hopes that students will enhance their sense of mission and responsibility, combine theory and practice, experience and innovation, improve their professional skills to serve the country, contribute to society, and be qualified builders and reliable successors of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Professor Li opened the door to government accounting for the students with his profound academic foundation and broad vision of knowledge. The lecture ended successfully with warm applause.


This lecture was hosted by Professor Tao Tao, Dean of Overseas Education College/International College and Deputy Director of the XMU-DBS Cooperation Program. Wang Yi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Geng Hu, Deputy Dean and Deputy Director of the XMU-DBS Cooperation Program, and more than 200 teachers and students from the XMU-DBS Cooperation Program attended the lecture. As the first lecture of the "Lecture Series on the Frontiers of Economics and Management", the event was a great success and made a good start for the series. In the fall semester, 5 more lectures will be held to help students understand the frontiers of the discipline and expand their academic horizon, so as to stimulate their interest in scientific research, consolidate their professional foundation, and improve their overall quality.

Professor Li Jianfa is a leading talent in the philosophy and social sciences of the National Special Support Program for High-Level Talents, a national outstanding accountant, a famous accountant of the Ministry of Finance, and an expert who enjoys special government allowances of the State Council. He is currently a member of the Business Administration Discipline Evaluation Group of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, Vice President of the Accounting Society of China and Director of the Accounting Professional Committee of the Government and Non-profit Organizations, Member of the China Accounting Standards Strategy Committee of the Ministry of Finance, Consultant of the China Government Accounting Standards Committee of the Ministry of Finance, and Deputy Director of Editorial Board Member of "Accounting Research". The main research areas are financial accounting theory, public finance and government accounting, government auditing, etc., and his research occupies a leading position in the field of public finance and government accounting in China Since 1995, he has participated in the whole process of budget accounting and government accounting reform in China.
