Introduction: Feng Jie, studied at Hengshanqiao High School in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province; enrolled in foundation to master program in 2007 and majored in finance; enrolled in University of Hull with IELTS 7 in 2010 and studied business and financial management as a senior students.

Q: How did you get IELTS 7?

Feng: Apart from my slightly better English foundation, teachers were of great help for me. We spent the first year improving our English. the learning environment in our class was good and teachers were very responsible, especially Yang Jing. In her ESOL classes, she would try different teaching methods to help us learn English culture. I also attended English contest, which were very helpful. I knew my disadvantages via attending the contest and they kept me learning. It’s also one of the motivations to learn English.

Q: Do you have any suggestions for students who are going abroad?

Feng: First of all, try to lay a firm foundation on language and professional knowledge, so that it will be easier to get used to the courses when you’re in a foreign country. The second is to take care yourself and be independent. Help you parents do whatever you can. It will be the best if you can cook. Finally, I hope that you won’t be afraid of the lifeoverseas. The most difficult period is the first one or two months, and then you’ll be fine.
